Direct Speech
เป็นถ้อยคำที่ยกเล่ามาโดยตรง
เช่น สมมติว่า แอร์คุยอยู่กับต้นสองคน
Ton said, "This is my school." แปลก็คือ ต้นพูดว่า นี่คือโรงเรียนของฉัน

Indirect Speech หรือ Reported Speech
เป็นถ้อยคำที่นำมาเล่า โดยจะมีการดัดแปลง
เช่น แอร์นำคำที่ต้นบอกว่า นี่คือโรงเรียนของต้นเนี่ย ไปบอกคนอื่นต่อ จะกลายเป็นว่า
Ton said that that was his school. แปลก็คือ ต้นบอกว่า นั่นคือโรงเรียนของเขา

เพื่อนๆ พอจะมองเห็นความแตกต่างกันมั้ยคะ ระหว่างสองประโยคข้างบน


หลักการเปลี่ยนประโยค Direct เป็น Indirect
1. เปลี่ยนคำกริยาของประโยคนำ
เป็นคำว่า said ในกรณีประโยคบอกเล่า >>> She said she liked ice cream.
เป็นคำว่า asked ในกรณืประโยคคำถาม >>>She asked me where I lived.
เป็นคำว่า asked ในกรณีประโยคขอร้อง (Ask someone to do something) >>>She asked me to pass the milk.
เป็นคำว่า told ในกรณีประโยคคำสั่ง (Told someone to do something) >>> He told her to go to bed.

2. เปลี่ยนสรรพนามบุคคล
เช่น
I เป็น He, She
You เป็น I
you ที่เป็นกรรม เปลี่ยนเป็น me
We เป็น They
me เป็น him, her
my เป็น his, hers
myself เป็น himself , herself
us เป็น them
our เป็น their
ourselves เป็น themselves
your เป็น my
yours เป็น mine
yourself เป็น myself

3. เปลียน Tense
Present Sim -----> Past Sim
ตัวอย่าง I make this desk here today. >>> He said that he made that desk there that day.
Present Con -----> Past Con
ตัวอย่าง I am staying here now. >>> He told me that he was staying there at that time.
Present Perfect---> Past Perfect
I have finished my homework. >>> She said that she had finished her homework.
Past Sim ---------> Past Perfect
I sent a present to my mother yesterday. >>> She said that she had sent a present to her mother the previous day.

will-----> would
ตัวอย่าง I will come here again next month. >>> She said that she would go there again the month after.
shall----> should
ตัวอย่าง This man shall do this for me. >>> He said that he should go there with his friends.
can-----> could
ตัวอย่าง I can go there with my friends.>>> He said that he could go there with his friends.
may----> might
My father may come today.>>> She said that her father might go that day.
must----> had to
I must finish my homework.>>> He said that he had to finish his homework.

4. เปลี่ยน Adverb of time ให้ไกลออกไป
Now -----> Then
Here -----> There
This -----> That
These -----> Those
Today -----> That day
Tomorrow -----> The following day, the next day
Next week -----> The following week
Yesterday -----> The day before, the previous day
Last week -----> The week before
Ago -----> Before
Come -----> Go
